Ian Moss Choir Girl Live HD

www.aim.edu.au www.ianmoss.com.au The Legendary Ian Moss performs live at the Australian Institute of Music, a great acoustic performance of his hit Tucker’s Daughter. Students were treated to a special guest appearance from legendary Aussie rocker Ian Moss recently at AIM, otherwise known to fans as ‘Mossy’, when he performed at the tail end of the Soulfood Aussie Rock Concert in March. ‘Mossy’ answered questions from students and performed the hits Tucker’s Daughter, Choir Girl and Bow River, to a rapturous applause from a young audience, as the master musician showed just why he is one of Australia’s best guitarists and song writers of all time. Playing solo with only a 6 string and stomp box, Mossy talked about his love for music & gave an inspirational performance, inspiring students to follow their dreams. Both of the Soulfood ‘Aussie Rock’ concerts were sold out on the day, as AIM students performed well known hits from Australian rock bands such as Jet, The Easybeats, INXS, Thirsty Merc, Kate Miller-Heidke and many more, to over a 250 strong audience at both shows.

ZZ Top – Bad Girl

ZZ Top is an American rock trio, formed in late 1969 in Houston, Texas, by Billy Gibbons (lead vocals and lead guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, and keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums). ZZ Top has been together for four decades, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and was ranked number 44 on VH1 cable’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.” The band holds the distinction of being among the few rock bands still composed of its original recording members for nearly 40 years and until September 2006, the same manager/producer/image maker, Bill Ham. ZZ Top reached peak commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s, scoring many hit songs during that era, but they remain together today and are still touring and releasing albums. ZZ Top was inducted by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony on March 15, 2004. Summarizing their music, Cub Koda wrote, “As genuine roots musicians, they have few peers; Gibbons is one of America’s finest blues guitarists working in the hard rock idiom … while Hill and Beard provide the ultimate rhythm section support.” Their song lyrics often feature sexual innuendo and tasteful humor.

Cobra – All girl Chinese alternative rock band, CD Cafe 1997

Cobra was an all girls band and one of the early rock bands in China to take the country by storm. Along with Cui Jian, they were one of the first rock bands to tour in the USA in the early 90’s. This is a clip from their show in Beijing at the original CD Cafe, opened up by Liu Yuan of Cui Jian’s band. I regret I don’t know the song name, but it was one of there more popular songs.

Thomas Earl “Tom” Petty (born October 20, 1950) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and a member of Mudcrutch. He was also a member of the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys under the pseudonym of Charlie T. Wilbury, Jr. He has recorded a number of hit singles, many of which remain heavily played on adult contemporary and classic rock radio. Likewise, his music, most notably his hits, have become increasingly popular among younger generations as he continues to host sold out shows in his recent tour dates. Petty is also a vocal critic of the modern recording industry and the disappearance of independent radio stations. Petty has been supported by his band, The Heartbreakers, for the majority of his career. However, members of The Heartbreakers have played on each of his solo albums and the band has always backed him when touring in support of those albums. He has also toured with Mudcrutch in order to promote their debut album. Petty has been managed by Tony Dimitriades since 1976.On February 3, 2008, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers performed at the Super Bowl XLII Halftime show.
