Mar 29, 2011 Rock Bands
I have the whole concert along with over four other live concerts of great rock bands. “Live at Donington is the DVD recording of the AC/DC show at Donington Park on 17 August 1991, and it was the band’s third “Monsters of Rock” festival. The 2 hour show was performed before 72500 spectators and included real cannons, the Hells Bell, an inflatable Rosie and an inflatable Angus. It was filmed in 35 mm Panavision and had 26 cameras that included one situated inside a helicopter.” This is the second song performed there To see the rest of the concert or to view concerts for other bands checkout my channel www.youtube.com more info about Ac/Dc: “AC/DC are an Australian rock band, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Although the band is commonly classified as hard rock and are considered a pioneer of heavy metal, they have always classified their music as rock and roll. AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1978 for the album Powerage. Within months of recording the album Highway to Hell, lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected to replace Scott. Later that year, the band released their highest selling album, Back in Black. The band’s next album, For Those …

Mitchel Monster sings “THIN LIZZY” live in Dudley
Mar 9, 2011 Rock Bands
Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band who formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969. The band was originally led by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott. They are best known for their songs “Whiskey in the Jar”, “Jailbreak”, “The Boys Are Back in Town” and “Bad Reputation”, all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations. Critic for allmusic.com John Dugan has written that “As the band’s creative force, Lynott was a more insightful and intelligent writer than many of his ilk, preferring slice-of-life working-class dramas of love and hate influenced by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, and virtually all of the Irish literary tradition.” Van Morrison was a major influence as revealed in an interview with Phil Lynott in the movie Thin Lizzy the Rocker: A Portrait of Phillip Lynott. American groups Little Feat and Bob Seger also influenced Lizzy. Their music covered much territory (including hints of country and traditional folk music), but is generally classified as traditional hard rock or heavy metal. Though others had earlier used similar techniques, Thin Lizzy is widely recognised as one of the first hard rock bands to employ double lead guitar harmony (the twin guitar clash) – a technique pioneered by Wishbone Ash in the UK, whilst independently in the USA by Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers Band. This style was later refined and popularised by bands of the emerging New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Judas …

www.aim.edu.au www.ianmoss.com.au The Legendary Ian Moss performs live at the Australian Institute of Music, a great acoustic performance of his hit Tucker’s Daughter. Students were treated to a special guest appearance from legendary Aussie rocker Ian Moss recently at AIM, otherwise known to fans as ‘Mossy’, when he performed at the tail end of the Soulfood Aussie Rock Concert in March. ‘Mossy’ answered questions from students and performed the hits Tucker’s Daughter, Choir Girl and Bow River, to a rapturous applause from a young audience, as the master musician showed just why he is one of Australia’s best guitarists and song writers of all time. Playing solo with only a 6 string and stomp box, Mossy talked about his love for music & gave an inspirational performance, inspiring students to follow their dreams. Both of the Soulfood ‘Aussie Rock’ concerts were sold out on the day, as AIM students performed well known hits from Australian rock bands such as Jet, The Easybeats, INXS, Thirsty Merc, Kate Miller-Heidke and many more, to over a 250 strong audience at both shows.
