Rock Band Network Aims to Revolutionize the Music Video Game Genre

Rock Band Network is the exciting new platform bought to us by MTV Games and Harmonix which will allow any band or artist to submit their songs on Xbox Live, and make them playable tracks in the Rock Band 2 video game.
The network is planned to launch in Mid-November and will provide a brand new avenue for musicians to display their music for all to enjoy. Using special recording software, musicians will be able to transform their song into a playable Rock Band track, upload it on Xbox Live, and allow anyone to download and play it. Unfortunately, the actual authoring process is complex, and not very approachable for the average musician who does not possess extensive recording knowledge.
The basic steps include:
1. Get a master, multi-track recording of your song.
2. Author song. This stage is where the song is transformed from a listenable song to a playable Rock Band track. It’s the most time consuming and important step of the process. The instrument mapping is done for each individual instrument on each difficultly.
3. Upload song to the Rock Band Creators Club for peer review.
4. Once the song has passed peer review, it will be placed on Xbox Live for all to download and enjoy.
An Xbox Live Gold membership and XNA Creators Club account are required for uploading the song. The song must be placed for sale between $1-$3.
Having songs in the Rock Band video game will allow musicians to receive greater exposure of there music and royalties for each download of there songs. Fans will be able to play these artists songs in Rock Band, providing a whole new way of experiencing there music!
